Adjust stem, installation and setup
The Volt Bike Elegant comes with a 100mm long adjustable stem to fit a 1.125" threadless fork steer tube and 25.4 handlebars.1. Align the stem
Loosen the two side pinch bolts. Align the stem and handlebar with the front wheel. Tighten the two side pinch bolts using a 4mm hex tool to secure the stem on the fork steer tube. 2. Rotate the stem body and handlebar sweep
Release the lever locking latch on the left side of the stem and lift the lever. Rotate the stem back and up to the desired height and position.Center and rotate the handlebars to the desired angle and backsweep. Close the lever to lock the stem angle and handlebar in place. The lever tension bolt may need be slightly tighten or loosened using a 5mm hex tool to ensure safe clamping force.3. Confirm
Check the stem and handlebars are secure, and the lever's safety latch on the left side of the stem is locked. Re-check after ten hours riding time.4. Tightening the headset
Note: (Voltbikes are shipped with the headset bearing preload adjusted for our customers)Loosen the two side pinch bolts. Release the lever locking latch on the left side of the stem and lift the lever to rotate the stem body forward and down. This will allow access to adjust the headset bearing preload bolt. Use a 5mm hex key to carefully tighten the bolt to remove play from the headset assembly. Do not overtighten the bearing preload bolt or tighten to a hard stop. Ensure the stem and handlebar can rotate side to side and steer freely without binding. Align the stem and tighten the two pinch bolts
